Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was through the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. The actress fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father, who is a professor of theater in one of the top Romanian theatre schools, is theater teacher. The Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. The year 2008 saw her honoured"an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. In 2007, she starred the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si2 (4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days), produced by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film received two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film where she starred. The film was released in 2008. She starred as Yasim in Angwar, the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca was a guest in the Romanian drama Boogie along with Oliver Hirschbiegels Five Minutes of Heaven. Later, she had major roles in 2014's Fury in which she portrayed Irma the German Aunt of Emma.
